This page shows some of the cosmetic work that was performed on my 1980 Honda CB900C during April 2006. This work included the removal of rust from various parts using Rusteco rust remover.  The links below will take you to a series of photographs that show the parts prior to treatment, after treatment with Rusteco and after the application of paint.

The Rusteco product comes in liquid and gel form. The liquid is by far the most effective, as the rusted part is submerged in it for 48 hours. After 48 hours, the rust is totally removed. This process worked very well for parts such as the exhaust pipe collars, exhaust heat shields and the rear light unit. The gel is 'painted' onto larger items that cannot be soaked in the liquid. As smaller amounts of the product are in contact with the rusted item, the effect isn't as dramatic and can require repeated applications together with scrubbing of the rusted area with a scotchbrite pad. After repeated applications, decent results were achieved using the gel on the exhaust system.
